My Wiccan Experience

this is a true story.

i do not bullshit about stuff like this.. everybody knows i'm agnostic, and most of you know that i lump wicca right in there with all the other religious beliefs as being just one more crock of lies, and have pissed off sunchild and sirona and a few others with my observations about wicca.

well, as i continue on my path of mellowship, i've mellowed toward wicca as well.

I have to agree with Sirona...anything that messes with your heart, ie love spells, is very dangerous! A person can cast energy to strengthen/heal someone but this is a physical healing, not emotional. A coven would be very good for her because they could help "keep her in check" so to speak.

LyinEyes: I saw The Craft too and again I agree with Sirona...it isn't like reality. Some things are parallel but for the most part it is made up.

Sirona: Thanks for the reference to "Wicca, A guide for the solitary practitioner" by Scott Cunningham. I'll have to add that one to my collection. Witchvox.com is one of my personal favs.

Blessings from Jehoovah - BAH!

i had so many fine blessings as a dub that after pondering on them...i am starting to wonder why i left.. some of my blessings were having the bookstudy in our home, oh what a fine blessing....i didnt have to go out on a cold night and i could save 20 minutes in travelling time....woohoo!!

making the unleven bread for the memorial, cool, i got to have the left overs *blech*.

also, working with the cos wife out on field service...yeah that was awesome, i got to pretend i was spiritual and i could talk crap all morning about the co's use of illustrations *choke*.

I had the "blessing" of pioneering....putting in endless hours of field service and wasting my time on people who didn't want me there. I worked tirelessly and put my marriage into danger. I also made my heart condition worse which sent me to an earlier heart surgery. And to think, I actually cried when I got my acceptance letter to pioneer. I felt so unworthy and couldn't understand why God would take such an interest in me and think me worthy to do his work. I know now that those were wasted tears.

The congregation witch hunt!

has anyone ever studied the salem witch hunts and trails.

what i found interesting about these, is how people who claimed to be peaceful, could get so riled up, that they were willing to kill people.

the spark that lit the fire was often a rumor or false accusations that got out of hand, or perhaps a misunderstanding on a issue or people thinking they saw something they didn't.

I have also experienced being "marked" by rumors. After I was DFd, an unbaptized publisher asked me to meet her for dinner. At dinner she explained to me that people in AND out of our KH were saying that I was into witchcraft, that I was a lesbian, and that my husband had a porn addiction and wasn't giving me any....thus why I was gay. I was outraged! (So what if I am a lesbian....that is no ones business.) I called my dad who is an elder in the congregation to tell him these things and ask him to put an end to the rumors. His response? "Why do you care what is being said about you?" I was floored...I should have expected it. My dad is the same one who told me and other publishers that when a person is DFd there is no longer a need to keep their sins confidential. He had even discussed one sisters adulterous relationship with a brother! That sister has since been reinstated. Imagine how it feels for her to know that everyone knows what she did! Needless to say, I will never go back....esp to that congregation.

Wrong ASSumptions from apostates

the apostates here have so many wrong assumptions.

anyone that posts against them they assume is defending the society.. i'm neutral towards the society.

i don't defend it nor do i attack it.

Are Parents Who Shun Their Children At Risk?

who looks after the welfare of ageing witness parents who have disfellowshipped children?

are these df'd children (actually, some of these df'd children are in their 60's) meant to ignore being ignored and then care physically for their non speaking parents?

also, can df'ing your own children lead to witness parents suffering illness or even death as a result?.

but i don't guess i turned into james dean at birth...lol.

well, benjamin informs me that today his mum drove him to the sunday meeting and kept him in the car until the meeting started, and then took him straight out after it had finished, so that the elders couldn't talk to him.. apparently an elder saw my wife in the street and approached her, but she told him to get stuffed (politely) but he informed her of what they intend to do.. it will be officially announced from the platform that benjamin no longer qualifies as an unbaptised publisher.. where do these bastards learn to be such bullies of children?

Any other martial artist online

i went from the jw's and got heavy into martial arts.

i have a black belt in kenpo karate, tkd, and kenjitsu and also hold ranks in jujitsu and other lower ranks in other systems.

i learned ages ago it is nothing evil like witnesses said it was, and have actually trained a few ex-jw's in my time.

I am currently training for Kendo and Aikido! I have visited a dojo for each art and have tenatively decided to get into the Kendo first....it is the most vigorous and that is what I'm looking for. I plan to start classes in January once my strength and stamina are up. I am just a year out of my second open heart surgery....which is why I'm training before I start my classes. The sensei said that Kendo isn't for everyone...but I'm gonna give it my best.
